Hi

Make sure that the audio channel has an input selected in the I/O box on the channel strip

Thanks CCT-that solved the issue which only happens infrequently.

Also am plugging guitar directly into M-Audio Moble Pre and then Moble Pre into MacPro. Get horrible hum from guitar line which also gets recorded. Do I have to mike the amp and then go through the Mobile Pre? I thought I could plug in instruments into the Mobile Pre?

Hi

You should be fine going in direct to the interface (as long as it has a Hi Impedance input).

Check cables, check the guitar for screening etc etc
