OK, just adding to a preexisting thread here. We have SAME problem. It is my wife's 4s, shuts down, turns right back on (unless plugged in) Ios6 installed... Pretty sure its hardware...
Also, when left in "sleep" (screen off) it will randomly turn on, and flash an error saying "wifi is required for downloading of apps" Odd, because, nothing is downloading...and we had just fine wifi connection That's Not the exact text, but thats the gist of it. It Eats battery...
Ive already opened a "call later" case, but thought id snoop around and see if theres anything else to try. Before calling in for support (which i prefer not to IE: loathe) π
I have tried:
-hard shutdown.
-let battery drain
-clean charge port
-restart when plugged in
-COMPLETE wipe and restore from cloud. ( we do not plug them into computers)
fairly certain this has to do with that charge port....is there a certain area in there i could check for a short/bent pins? I work on electronics, so not afraid to have a go.....
Anything else? or is it new phone time? π
