four finger swipe to show list of open applications

Hi guys,

I have installed Mountain Lion and now I don't see any response when I swipe four fingers left or right (in Snow Leopard I used to do it and see the list of open apps and choose my app).

Does anyone know how can I get that back??? I am really used to it. Without this Mountain Lion seems not so nice!

I don't know why Apple instead of adding functionalities either changes the old one or modifies them!!!!!! Not user friendly!

Please let me know if I can do something to get it back.

Thanks!

OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1), 2.66, 8 GB RAM (Late 2008 model)

No you can not get it back. It was lost with Lion.

See your >SystemPreference>Track Pad for your 3 or 4 finger swipe options.

Alternate work a round:

Command-Tab will give you the heads-up screen of all open apps.

Keep the command key held down, and hit Tab (or Tilde) to cycle through.

Also you can mouse to the app you want to choose from the heads-up screen.

Thanks Leroydouglas,

I was so troubled with losing the swipe that I entirely forgot about the command+tab, that helped a lot. Thanks!

Why did Apple remove such useful, handy feature???? Not expected of Apple!

But what about the 4 finger swipe?? for me 3 or 4 finger left or right swipe doesn not work at all, even with full screen open apps!

Any recommendations on that?😕

The four finger swipe up/down to switch applications with the track pad works intermittemly with Mountain Lion. What's up with that.

When I start my mac and open applications to full screen, the four finger swipe works great to switch applications. But over a period of time it stops working. The only way to fix it is to re-start the computer and the applications. Than the process starts all over, four finger swipe works, than it stops.

Apple didn't take this function away, but it does have a bug in Mountain Lion. I hope a fix comes soon, because as with Sasan Mac, I find this feature adds a lot to productivity.

This may also be a bug with ML, but I find my track pad now losing its connection more often than before ML.

Thanks T_Bro54!

The up and down sort of works but not nearly as essential and productive four finger swipe.

To me the biggest difference between the Leopard Four Finger Swipe and the Lion one, which adds to its functionality, is that in Leopard the swipe would even show the minimized Apps (would bring them to the front of the queue) while in Lions, it would show the full screen ones!
