ipod not being recognized

ipod not being recognized

well i got a replacement ipod from the factory. It cannot be recognized by itunes whatsoever. Could this be a defect or something? i cant even update it cuz it wont be recognized. Also, the faceplate is a little shaky when you shift it with your fingers at the bottom, is that bad?

Make sure everything is up to date...

iPod Updater
Updating iPod's Software

Also, see this...

Does your iPod show Do Not Disconenct when connected to the computer?

Finally, connect the iPod and open My Computer. Is it showing up as a drive there? If so...
iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes

Try resetting it; hold down Menu and Select simutaneously until the Apple logo appears. If that doesn't work, leave it on until the battery runs out.

well i did everything, im gonan restart my computer now to see if that does the trick. Also can someone answer my other question if it is a defect or something if my face plate is a bit shaky. And also my ipod never says charge complete ever.

Try connecting your iPod through a different USB port.

nvm its just this comp my oter one did it great. But my faceplate is a bit shaky when u shift it side to side. Is that a defect or does that happens on ur ipods too>
