does anybody know why my usb drive connected to my airport extreme cannot be seen by other users on my network ?
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 4 gigs of ram
A few thoughts would be:
1) "Sharing" was possibly not enabled for the drive in AirPort Utility.
2) Users do not have the password to connect to the drive.
3) Users do not have File Sharing enabled on their Macs
4) Mac users do not know that they must use the Finder > Go > Network command to locate the drive

They can also click on the AirPort Extreme icon, which should appear on the left side of a Finder window under the SHARED heading.
Then, double click the folder representing the drive to mount the drive on the desktop.
That was the problem they could not see it in there finder under shared devices.
Thanks it works the other way.
The usual reason why they could not see the drive is that the option to "show connected servers on the desktop" was likely not enabled in Finder > Finder Preferences > General > Show these items on the desktop.
