please help
i have just got a new mac book air and apple tv BUT there is no air play icon on the top left hand of my screen. can any body help me am i doing some thing wrong?? or is this mac not compatable (even though the apple man said it was)

I assume your new Mac is running Mountain Lion, which has been out for about six weeks now.
yes 10.7.4 i have tried updating both the apple tv and air book. ver new to apple products so not sure about any of it.
10.7.4 is Lion - Mountain Lion is what you need to use AirPlay. Mountian Lion is 10.8 or 10.8.1.
Upgrade to Mountain Lion if you want the AirPlay features.
And if your Macbook Air is new - you might be able to get Mountain Lion for free.
