How specify app Safari link should use?

How in Safari (6.0) can one specify the app that the target file of a link should use to open that file -- depending on the file's type, as given by its extension?

For example, if a link has target a Mathematica Notebook file like MyWork.nb, then because of that extension .nb, when the link is clicked, the file would open in Mathematica.app?

Assuming that app is compatibe with Macs, simply select one of those files, then press the Apple/Command kay along with the letter "i" key. In the resulting pane, go down to "Open With" and then choose Mathematica . . . or input it under "Other." Then select "Select All" which will put all those extensions on the list.

No, that doesn't seem to do it: the extension .nb is already associated with being opened by Mathematica.app.
