Cover and page orientations are different

The orientation of my ibook cover is vertical and the inside pages are horizontal. How can I change the cover orientation to match the rest of the book?

Ouch...

I originally designed my children's picture book for print, in a 6" square format.

To fit the ipad screen size, I redesigned so each 2-page spread could be viewed on single horizontal ipad screen pages. That was quite a bit of work. Lastly, I redesigned the cover to a horizontal shape.

What I don't understand is, when the user brings up my book on their screen, they will view it vertically, then rotate the ipad to view the inside pages in full screen?

'Brings up'...means view in iBooks, prior to opening, via shelf or titles view - Vertical = portrait

• Only tall or short/square. Your original square cover should be fine.

• Not landscape...not wider than taller.

If you mean 'rotate' to landscape, and you disabled portrait in your book settings via Inspector....yes. That's how iBooks works and what you are obligated to work with. This is by default...same for all authors.

See the book named 'The Toad Sleeps Over' for an example.
