If you select Safari preferences, then click on the appearance tab at the top of the window, you'll see the font selections and adjustments. Hopefully this will solve your problem.

Are you referring to the browser (Safari) or all the fonts (such as Finder windows, menu bar, etc)?

If you want all the fonts enlarged, the only way to accomplish that is to lower the screen resolution by a notch - go to the Displays Preference Pane in System Preferences and choose a lower resolution - if you're not happy with the result, you can just change it back.

I'm not booted into Snow Leopard, but the Pref Pane only changed a little (this is from my MBP in Mountain Lion):

In my case, I could simply choose the one below the default (1152 x 720).

using Mac OS X 10.6.8, running Snow Leopard

open Safari preferences and go the the Advanced tab

click the 'Universal Access' and select a comfortable font size
