Safari crashes

Safari 5.1.6 on my MacBook Pro started crashing about 2-3 wks ago and has progressed to wont even open, I simply get a crash report. I have read some of the community discussions and acted on attempting to open Safari in a guest account but Safari crashes there as well. Any ideas?

Updating to Safari 6 for Lion may help. Apple has not posted a Safari 6 standalone installler but there is a workaround.

Then click the link posted by: gregoryfromcork

That will automatically download this file > Safari6Lion.pkg.download

Now quit Safari.

Go to your Downloads folder and double click that file and follow the instructions for installing.

Then restart your Mac, try Safari.
