Slot Machine Effect
Has anyone figured out a way to do this effect? I tried all the text effects but can't get the spinning numbers.
I am working in Motion 4.

Final Cut Pro 7, Mac OS X (10.6.7)
Start with a Numbers Generator (Library > Generators > Numbers)
In the Generator tab:
Leave Animate checked
Start 1.0
End 9.0
In the Format Tab:
Set a larger size ~ 80 to 100 or so
Centered text
Replicate the Numbers generator
In the Replicator tab:
Shape: Sphere (you'll have to check the 3D checkbox first to gain access to it)
Arrangement: Outline
Radius: 120 or so
Columns: 9
Rows: 1
Build Style: Clockwise
In the Cell Controls panel:
Align Angle: Check
Angle.Z : -90
Play Frames: OFF
Source Frame Offset: 36 (may depend on the sphere radius -- adjust this value until all 9 numbers appear)
In the Properties tab:
Rotation Z: 90
Add a Basic Motion > Spin Behavior
In the Behaviors tab:
Affect Subobjects : off
Spin Rate: -72 to start... to be adjusted
Axis: X
Add a Camera (switch to 3D)
In the Camera tab:
Far Plane: about 60
Adjust settings to taste...
