iCloud has been down for 10 hours...

I am amazed and frustrated by this situation -- does anyone know what is going on? Is there another way to access email?

tough day for me, we are closing on a house next week, Literally hundreds of legal related emails going back and forth, not to mention my work. I'm out of the loop, and have had to switch to gmail. But notifying some of the parties and not knowing others has been a nightmare. I stopped at the apple store, while out - they had no idea. Some have service, others don't.

That's not a statistical graph. It's only a prognosis based on nebulous user reports. I have never had GMail unavailable. Perhaps slow at times. I would expect so today because it would appear the millions of iCloud users are flocking to GMail. They have not - to my recollection - had all-day outages like iCloud has in the past 6 months. This is #3 or 4. Worldwide outages, costing people time and money.

Google have their flaws and mis-steps (GoogleDrive being one of them). After search, mail is their forte. Apple have stumbled badly in their first steps in to cloud computing.

I did hear a rumour that iCloud is outsourced to GoDaddy so it might not be their fault. Perhaps it's time to re-evaluate that relationship if they are, in fact, the cause of the outages.
