I have a late 2008 macbook pro and want to hook up to Samsung LED HDTV so sound and video work. What connector will I need? Mini dvi to hdmi? Thank you so much!!!!

According to this article, your late 2008 mbp supports only video on its mini dp port. So you'd need to connect audio separately.
How would u recommend doing that with?
Well, I'm thinking the earphone plug minijack serves as audio output, which you could connect to the TV if it has a corresponding input. According to this list, your minijack supports optical output - so you could use a toslink cable if your TV has optical input (I think Moshi has such a cable).

PS If you have a home theatre system in addition to the TV, you cuold wire the audio to your amplifier instead of the TV.
Yeah I basically got a free 32" led Samsung tv when I just bought a new 60" one. So I just wanted to use the small on for MacBook pro. I hope there is a way to hook it up and just use tv as monitor with MacBook closed.
