What's up about localisation with wifi ipad?

Hey! Bad enough that I can't use the automatic time setting because my ipad's insisting in me beeing somewhere near Shanghai while I'm sitting in my chair about 50 miles south of Berlin, Germany. Now I posted a facebook status from Whuhanshih, China, while sitting in even the same chair. Not moving at all - it's a cheap one from IKEA, no big block or jet engines on board.

OK, I'm just the underestimated user of an WiFi iPad, without GPS, LTE or 3G inside. But has the outcome of WiFi positioning to be such a mess? What can I do to get accurate position data, at least when I'm connected via WiFi to the internet? Please help!
