I just recently "redownloaded" FCPX because it was very sluggish and froze all the time for some reason and lost everything I had in it, but not really-
When I type the name of videos I've made into finder they all show up with different folders "backups" and stuff.
How can I put these files back into FCPX?

What files are these? Are you talking about Event and Project files?
Your Event and Project files should be in the root of an external Hard Drive (or in the Movies folder).
If they are not there, how did they get moved?
Reinstalling FCP X will not disturb the Events and Projects.
Make sure you don't have a backup drive mounted which could also contain similarly named Events and Folders (even Time Machine). A second drive with these items on will confuse FCP X.
