Do I format the bootcamp partition for ntfs?

I am installing windows 8 via bootcamp. When it shows me a list of partitions I see the one designated bootcamp. It says it is not formatted for ntfs. Am I supposed to format it I don't want to ruin anything.

Any and all help is much appreciated!

Thanks

Read the instructions or you will be sorry.

When you’re asked where to install Windows, select the partition named “BOOTCAMP.”

Do not create or delete a partition, or select any other partition. Doing so may delete the entire contents of your Mac OS X partition.

The Windows installer formats the Windows partition using the NTFS file system.
