How to recover Sample books in iBooks?

Though iBooks allows you to recover lost purchased books redownloading from, an option like this doesn't exist for downloaded samples. Case in point, I download samples of books in iBooks as a way to capture books that I intend to buy -- instead of keeping a list. I recently lost 2+ years of saved Sample books (for no apparent reason) and now can't figure out how to recover them.

Is there a way to restore or identify the files from an old back? If so, what would be the specific steps? Thanks.

I've got the same issue... Upgraded by iPad and lost my samples ... Help!

Worked for me - I was able to retrieve the list of all books in iBooks, including sample chapters.

I have the exact same issue as other posts and just found last night that I had lost all my samples.

Do you have any suggested/recommended software for the iPad backup extractor? I tried to use the Wondershare.net Dr.Fone for iOS For Mac. But, I did not see the iBooks under data recovery option.
