iPhone 4 and The New iPad

I would like to know if I can tether a New iPad 32G to my iPhone 4 just like I do my Macbook Air right now? I havent purchased the iPad yet and wanted to save the money on the non-cellular iPad if I can tether it to my phone.

Can someone answer this for me, Thanks.

Verify that your carrier supports Personal Hotspot for your device and that you have Personal Hotspot enabled on your cellular plan:
