Q: Good day. I am using a used laptop that was converted from XP to Windows 7. I cannot download Quicktime player. What is the issue that I am dealing with and can I fix this? Thank you.

Good day, humans. I am having difficulty getting quicktime player on my laptop [no, it is not an apple product]. What are the general issues with this and how is it to be resolved?

Do you get an error message when you try to install QuickTime? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

The response I get is "QuickTimeInstaller.exe couldn't be downloaded".

Okay.

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
