Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Apple should give us a free iPhone 5 for those affected by this crazy outage!

OK, I'm not going to hold my breath, but Apple needs to do something cool for those of us who have gone without email for so long this time.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 2.4 gHz model

That's is connected with my personal attitude and not with the 80 euros. Where did Apple write: "thanks for the 80 euros but don't forget to back up? You can't trust our capabilities only because you paid that money". I am a fan of Apple probably more than many others (I have the 80 euros paid as a prove) but let's wait the end of this story and everybody will take his own conclusions

I never said it had been free for 8 years, stop putting your words in my mouth!"

Your words.

Yup, that is what I said, iCloud mail is free, why are you still arguing about it. We (even you) live now, not then. You're posting in a thread arguing that Apple shold give $600 phones to people who are upset that the free email they use is not working for a day or so. Do you really expect to be taken seriously.

Did I ever suggest we all receive free phones? Stop putting your words in my mouth. Did I even mention iCloud in my previous posts? Nope. I've been talking about Apple Mail, a service for which I've been paying for 8+ years. 8 years of contacts come directly to my account, which has been down now for the past 24 hours. THIS is the problem. And yes, I think it's stupid to hope for a free phone from this, but we do deserve a word from Apple as to why this has happened at random.

Again! For you!!!!!!

In any case this happening to icloud and not to other FREE mail services ...... Let's wait the end of the story and every body will take his own decisions. By the way ALL THE BIGGEST mail services are FREE ( hotmail, Gmail, Aol, Yahoo, Foxmail) but they don't have this long lasting problems. I don't get your point

All of the free (and all of the paid) email systems have outages, Google has had several recently, the difference is that the paid ones tend to have less and offer support for when they do, you are misinformed when you say it does not happen to other systems.

Businesses with sense do not use free email, but if your communications are of no value to you then a free system is appropriate.

When I signed up years ago for this service it was a paid service. I transitioned customers to it because the email worked and I didn't have to worry about servicing a hosted domain. It was switched to free only in the past few months.

Regardless of that this has been an unacceptable outage and should have been handled better.

I agree with this statement and will be transitioning customers to a different email, but I was hoping that I wouldn't have to.

Did you not notice my post was in response to you calling it a free service? A service that was previously a paid subscription service from which I built 8 years of contacts?

I think you react before you fully comprehend the intent of user posts.

Do you have some problem reacting to the passing of time and the changes that happen?

iCloud is free, no matter how you try to spin it.

The Apple fan boys like Csound1 are doing their beloved Apple no favors disrespecting people with ligitimate issues on a support forum. If I was Apple I would put a muzzel on Csound1 and the other fan boys in the forum that have no social skills other than to bash people with legit problems. This is a place where people come for "support" not to be harrassed by fan boys.

Backing up your data is your responsibility, without it you have no protection against any errors/faults/etc. Unless you do it no-one else will.

If you wish to have Apple "Muzzel" me please contact them, this is an Apple user site, it is not Apple.
