iPhone5 have removable sim?

Maybe soon to ask, but from the information that Iv found so far there is no hint whether the iPhone5 has a removable sim. I currently have an iPhone4 with the sim slot on the right side. All I need do is pop the slot out switch sim cards and I can use the iPhone with my local carrier as I travel between the US, UK and Australia.

There is some information on the UK or Aussie Apple sites about revovable sim, but the photos do not show a sim slot on the right side.

Any ideas?

Hope you are correct, but there is nothing in Apples information anywhere about removable sims and definitely no photo of an iPhone5 with a slot on the right side. I sure don't want to buy an iPhone5 only to get stuck with a phone I cannot replace the sim as I travel international. Maybe when the pre-order site opens there will be more info...

Man you either need to have your eye exam 😮

or need to learn about how to look for information on a web site

I don't need glasses and I can read. However, the only hint of a sim is that small dot in the photo. On the US site no where is there an option to purchase the phone outright. Nor an option to buy an unlocked iPhone5 as there is on Candian, Aussie or British sites.

Go to the US site and dig ... there is zip about a sim location, not even on the tech specs page.

It is simple for me. I do not take contracts with any carrier in the US or other wise. I buy the phone outright ... which at this point is not even listed on the Apple site.

There mention of the GSM sim card if you buy the phone online in the Q&A section. But, no where else is it mentioned. I'm hoping that changes once pre-orders actuallyopen and you can see options.

Carl,

I was not trolling and I was not trying to be rude. I only wanted to find out if anyone found something hidden in the small print that I had missed. One reason I was late in getting an iPhone at all was the fact that unti mid-2011 Apple did not sell an unlocked iPhone4 in the US.

I more than understand that the iPhone5 comes with a mirco-sim card. However, when you are outside the US there is conflcting information as to whether the sim card in on the side or inside the back panel. The only photo is the one with the small hole by the finger in the main page photo. If you look at the tech specs the sim card location is not pointed out.

Nor is there from what I can find any mention of an unlocked iPhone5 on the US site. Except for the Q&A. Under a question about when I buy does the phone come ready to use. In that answer it mentions an unlocked phone. Yet, no where could I find that the unlocked phone will be sold in the US. Where as it is immediately clear by looking at the Aussie, UK or Candian country pages .... there is an unlocked phone to purchase out right.

I ended the question because it is clear people are misunderstanding my question. Only thing I can do now is what until the site opens to pre-purchase and see if an unlocked iPhone5 is offered in the US. Or if I will have to go outside the US to make the purchase.

I found out my answer today on the missing information on the US Apple site concerning an unlocked iPhone5.

Apple is not going to offer an unlocked iPhone5 in the US for several months.

The iPhone4 was the 1st version of the iPhone to be offered as unlocked in the US and then it was a full year after the original iPhone4 release. The iPhone4S unlocked was not released in the US more than 6 months after its original release date.

From the information that I received today an unlocked iPhone5 will not be released in the US until late December at the earliest and most likely not until 2013.

Which means if you want an unlocked iPhone5 you will have to get it outside the US.

Please stop trolling and giving out false information.

iPhone 4s original release date was Oct 14 2011.

I purchased 2 unlocked iphones 4s directly from apple online on Nov 23 2011. Each cost USD 696.86 including NYS tax. I just checked my credit card statment.

Oct 14 to Nov 23 is 6 months???

Either you need to refine you research skill or you have problem counting days.

pick one of these media reports most dated Nov 11 2011 which is less than a month after iPhone 4s release
