I'm going to be upgrading my phone to the iPhone 5 when it comes out on Sept 21. Currently I have the 4s with iOS5. I was wondering if there is a way to transfer all my text messages over to the iPhone 5 on the iOS6. I know that you can do a restore through iTunes but wasn't sure what would happen since i'm using two different operating syatems now.

This is done by backing up your old phone, then when setting up the new one choose to restore from this backup, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109. (Text messages are stored in the backup.)

Your texts are saved in your iTunes backup. Just wait til you get the new phone and restore from that backup, even if it's a backup of an iOS 5 phone. That's what's intended
So this won't bring back the iOS 5 onto the iPhone 5? It will still have the iOS 6
No, it only transfers your data and settings, not the iOS.

Hey one more question. When I do this back up, my photos that were on the 4s when they go onto the 5 will they be in the camera roll album on in a seperate album?
They'll be returned to your camera roll.
