Sep 13, 2012 8:03 AM in response to Bham_Billby KiltedTim,According to this article: http://www.macworld.com/article/1167240/ios_6_features_you_might_have_missed.htm l
It does... I saw a photo of the relevant slide that was put up during the iOS 6 announcement, but am too lazy to look for it now.
It's possible it may not have made it into the final release. Apple never made any statements about it as far as I know beyond the slide referenced.
"
Near the end of the iOS portion of the keynote, Apple showed a slide listing a host of other features included in the iOS 6 update. Among those were Game Center challenges, the ability to connect Game Center friends from Facebook, VoiceOver improvements, personal dictionary in iCloud (for adding your own terms to the dictionary, which can sync between devices), and per-account signatures in Mail. Also on the list was improved privacy, which—as a new option in Settings—will let you control which apps can access which bits of personal data, like your Contacts, Calendar, or Photos. Other features on the list included autocorrection for every keyboard,Bluetooth MAP support (which is commonly used to help cars better offer hands-free communication with Bluetooth devices), kernel ASLR (which aims to make data even more impervious to snooping from malicious attackers), custom vibrations for alerts, redesigned stores (for the App and iTunes stores), IPv6 support for Wi-Fi and LTE, word highlights for speak selection, improved keyboard layouts, alarms with songs, and faster JavaScript in Safari. Apple also says iOS 6 includes a global HTTP proxy option, which would supplant the current approach, limited as it is to per-connection proxy settings."

Sep 24, 2012 12:22 PM in response to Bham_Billby Matt_Ward,There are some issues with ios6 and bluetooth profiles. It seams apple have left out avrpc which is pretty important if you want audio sync ability for devices. There are a couple of threads on this.

Sep 24, 2012 1:00 PM in response to Bham_Billby Matt_Ward,It wont make and ounce of difference if the hardware sending the signal is wrong, or sends the wrong information. If it were an ios5 device it would work fine.

Sep 25, 2012 1:12 PM in response to Bham_Billby Ricky Rodriguez1,I've got a 2012 Honda CR-V that has a feature that displays your text messages and it uses message access protocol. After updating my iphone 4S to 6.0 it's still not working. Any one else figure this out or is this feature not working on this IOS yet? The phone's bluetooth has no problem pairing with the car but the "text message" set up is grayed out.

Sep 25, 2012 6:56 PM in response to Bham_Billby Ricky Rodriguez1,OK, I figured out how to use the bluetooth MAP function. I have a new 2012 Honda CRV and an Iphone 4S that I just updated to IOS 6. The Honda CR-V uses the SMS fuction when connected to your phone like a lot of vehicles do. Here's how I got it to work and it may be the same with other vehicles.
1. Pair your phone with the vehicle using the proper steps for individual vehicle.
2. After you see the device in the Iphone's bluetooth connections, there will be a button off to the right, tap that and it will open up settings for the device/vehicle.
3. Turn on "Show Notifications"
4. Go back to home screen and turn phone off then turn it back on.
5. While your vehicle is still on and your phone completely boots up they should connect automatically and the text messages should start coming through your vehicle as long as it's turned on in the vehicle settings. Thank you Apple for finally adding that feature.

Oct 1, 2012 4:38 PM in response to serenDby Ricky Rodriguez1,No it's not working for me either. The "reply" and "call" options are greyed out. I can't figure out why. I'm going to search around for a fix
