How do I forward messages from my pager to my iPhone 4?

I would like to forward messages sent to my work pager on to my iPhone 4 instead. I know this is possible (a colleague of mine is able to do so), but I have been told that there is a feature I need to turn on on my phone to be able to receive such messages. Does anyone know how to go about setting this up?
