Anyone have their iPhone 5 pre-order shipping confirmation and working tracking link yet?

For anyone pre-ordering an iPhone 5, please post when you have a UPS/Fedex shipping tracking link that actually works and indicates that your iPhone 5 is in transit and whether or not it is scheduled to be delivered on Friday the 21st to coincide with when the iPhone 5 will be available in stores. And did you pre-order through the Apple store or through one of the carriers, e.g. Verizon or AT&T? And did you pre-order early on Friday the 14th or are you hours or days back in the pre-order queue?

Last night my phone left "Prepared for Shipment" (after 5 days), returned to processing for a few hours, and is now back in "Prepared for Shipping" status. The people at Apple swear it wasn't in PfS status before, and can't guarantee a delivery by the quoted 10/04/2012 date.

Did they outsource this process to the Keystone Cops, or what? I don't think buying a cell phone should be this complicated.

I'm not sure the UPS tracking system is fully updated. My phone went from Processing to Preparing to Ship on Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, it went to Shipped. It stayed in China until this morning, and then changed sometime later in the morning to say it arrived in Korea. Now, this afternoon, I checked again, and low and behold, my phone is in Alaska and my delivery date has been moved up from Friday, the 28th, to Thursday, the 27th. I'm in Tampa, FL. I should mention that my original delivery date was for Friday, October 5th.

Now, my second phone (I ordered two phones at the same time, one on one phone, the other on the other phone, via the Apple Store App). That phone's status also changed on Saturday to Preparing to ship, but did not ship until this morning (I wonder if the riot at the dorm at Foxconn had something to do with it?) and now the delivery date for that phone is October 2nd.

So, one phone will be a week and day ahead of October 5th, the other will be 3 days ahead.

I Ordered two on 14Sep, both estimated to arrive 5Oct. One has arrived and the other still processing. I received a call from apple today saying my Verizon acct was flagged saying they had to cancel the second order and I'd receive a confirm email within 24 hours. I don't even have a Verizon acct yet! One is for me and the other my wife and I think it's because I ordered both in my name. I did call customer service back to see if they could change the name on the order to hers, they said no, but they also stated the order was still open and not marked for cancellation. I'm going to call back the apple number that called me today, tomorrow, since they are now closed to see *** the deal is. If it does get cancelled, it would have been nice to know while they were still in stores. Not at all happy with their customer service at this point.

I've had about enough of this entire process. At this point I might very well be returning my iPhone 5 tomorrow and sticking with my PROPERLY WORKING ANDROID!!!

Long story short. Pre-ordered on the 14th, phone arrived today. AWESOME right? FAKING WRONG!!!

After trying every method possible to active this pos, itunes, factory refurb, verizon store.... no luck. 2 hours on the phone with Verizon, no solution, 2.5 hours physically in a verizon store and again no solution, 2.5 hours at the Apple store and they closed, no solution.

Verizon is telling me that my phone is set to activate on the 13th of October.... ***!?!??!?!?! They are now "trying" to release a temporary number while they port my t-mobile number over, which is still expected not to set in until the 13th.

10 hours later with my lovely jewel, and I have yet to use it. I have the device in hand, activiate the faking thing already!

Verizon is blaming Apple, Apple is blaming Verzon... there were 3 other people in the apple store while I was there tonight dealing with the exact same issue. Apple even gave me a brand new iPhone 5 to replace mine, thinking it might be a hardwhere issue.... which now has only made matters worse because the IME number (or whatever the fak it's called) isn't the same as the one they have on file.

I was just trying to buy my first iPhone.... that's it, that's all I wanted. I'll see how I feel when I wake up tomorrow, but I'm sure IOS and aluminum aren't worth this ****....... the "leading technology company" in the world can't properly release it's most popular device.... I've about given up.

To make matters worse, Verizon sounds like they don't believe I've received it, according to their "system" my iPhone 5 "just shipped"

Am I wrong to be angry here? I have a brand spanking new iPhone 5 sitting in hand and I'm supposed to wait 3 weeks to use it? Why the *** sell it to me then!!!!!

Apple has to have replacement phones on hand for replacement if there is a hardware issue. Just imagine how burned you'd be if you got your nifty new device and it wouldn't turn on and you went to Apple and they said....."gee, so sorry, we'll order one for you and you'll get it the 3rd week of October." Instead, they always have replacement stock on hand. I'd be glad they did if my phone was DOA.

Heres the update.

Just got a call back from Verizon (their customer service, other than not beeing able to help LOL, has actually been pretty oustanding).

Anyway.

I am now supposed to go back tomorrow, to the APPLE Store that is... and get a "new sim card." They then plan on canceling my old service, which apparently theyve arleady done (meaning I currently hold an unlocked iPhone 5 that's not connected to ANY carrier...) and then get issued a brand new line, on the new sime card. I will then have a temporary # up until October 13th (meaning my iPhone isn't leaving the house) and then on the 13th, my normal cell phone number will be available.....

Except for one HUGE problem.... I saw an iPHone 4s user get turned down for warranty service because the sim card in the phone did not match the original iPhone... the sim card read a black iphone4, and his was a white one, so they turned down the warranty.

If I am getting a new sim card tomorrow, isn't it going to NOT MATCH the IMEI number?

I can't BELIEVE I have to go through this, to get a phone activated... this is completely outragoues...

And yes, they have a TON of phones behind the walls, but not for sale...only for replacements etc)... I saw them swap out at least 6-7 in the 2 hours I was there... one of the black ones came out NEW with such a large scratch through the top left corner of the phone, that the light was shining through it. This was apparently the 2nd phone this guy has already received since the release this week (I did a lot of talking, hence I was there for 2.5 hours today).

so, while I'm playing with some of the features on this new device (I will say, it's hands down a nicer device in hand then any Android on the market) yet it still isn't actually working, as it can't call out, at all.

Anyone have their iPhone 5 pre-order shipping confirmation and working tracking link yet?
