I have purchased a book I need for chool on Ibooks in my itunes and I cannot open it on my imac. I understand that itunes cannot play these files but as well my iphone wont download it because of extremely low internet connection so which app can I get for my imac that will allow me to open and read my ibook?

There aren't any, ibooks from Apple can currently only be read in the iBooks app on an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, Apple have so far not made a Mac or PC reader for them. If you have it on your Mac then you should be able to sync it to the iBooks app on your iPhone via the iPhone 'device's Books tab
