How do I share a Reminders list?

Before, when reminders were found in the calendar, there as a little icon on the right that you could click to share your list with someone. Now they took Reminders out of the calendar, and there is no place to select and share the list. All the help menus are outdated for the old iCloud format. Please advise how I am supposed to share lists from the reminder app???

I panicked when I saw this functionality was gone from iCloud.com. The good news is that this feature is being added to 10.8.2 (in beta right now) directly on the Mac so there will be no need to use the web interface. The bad news is if you are not running, or cannot run 10.8.2, or you are a PC user, the functionality seems to have disappeared. I have read that iOS 6 will also have the ability to do this when it is released on September 19. Again, if your iOS device cannot run iOS 6 (first generation iPad comes to mind), the abilty to modify a list to be shared will also be gone. Hopefully Apple will correct this on the web interface so that people can continue to use it even if they cannot use the latest software due to hardware restrictions. Since I depend heavily on Shared Reminders (it has become my go to task management app), I am relieved that this functionality will be restored next week.

Funny story. I setup my first sharing reminder list yesterday, just before the change. It worked like a charm, shared reminders list with another iphone user, and was very excited about the feature. And then yesterday afternoon - boom, it was gone. 1.5 hours on a support call with 2 apple support specialist I come to find out that inability to share reminder lists is a 'feature' of IOS 5.1.1 that just got rolled out. (sad panda).

It appears, however, that existing shared reminder lists still work, since my shared 'Groceries' list now has Fruits, lemons, Tomatoes & bread... items I definitelly didn't add. Just can't newly share & unshare reminder lists.

Same here - first shared list set up yesterday. Extolled the values of shared lists to my wife, who made several lists today, only for me to find tonight I couldn't share them. So, I simply renamed the one shared list I created (originally for grocery shopping) and dragged all the other items (to do's) into it. Workaround until they fix what I think is a great feature.

As of right now there isn't. The good news is that existing shared lists continue to function properly with the exception of alarms not sounding on shared items for devices that didn't create them (turns into a due date instead). That is either a bug or the way Apple wants it. I really hope the release notes I have read regarding this ability do not turn out to be wrong. Reminders is fantastic for task management and there are features that dedicated apps don't have. A lot of untapped potential and removing this feature, even temporarily, irks me. I especially love having it on the Mac. Using the "Today" view really helps me sort things out. Multitouch gestures, natural language input (Mac version), Siri integration (iOS) and a host of other features had me retire my $80 "Things" app once and for all. Shared lists by far is one of the biggest virtues of this app, and I really hope someone at Apple realizes the need to restore this on the web interface for users that may not be able to upgrade to the latest software.

Just created a new big list of items for a family member, went to share it only to find this feature has been removed. Is it me or is it now impossible to even copy and paste this list somewhere else? What a wonderful user experience this is 😉

Between multiple mail outages (with no clear way to report the outage unless you have Applecare or a recent hardware purchase), and incredibly frustrating wastes of time like this, I'm about at my wits end with iCloud.

And why does ctrl-B make text bold in this field when that command on the Mac moves the cursor back? Diminishing the Mac user experience (a key reason people buy Macs) because this command is common for Windows users also rubs me the wrong way.

This is absolutely ridiculous - they have regressed the functionality with the latest OS?!? Who the **** either (a) came up with this stupid idea or (b) missed it in their software testing?

As a result of the reminders list coming out in Lion, I have invested time and effort to move all my task management over to that. Apple now take away key functionality that was part of the original release which they convinved so many people to adopt.

The people at Apple should be ashamed of how they've let the quality of their work slip so considerably over the past 11 months...

By the way, can anyone PLEASE URGENTLY confirm to me whether the new iPhone running on iOS6 will still support phone calls? Its just that I am stupidly assuming it does but I have to admit, I don't recall Scott Forstall going into that very much in his iOS 6 demo during last week's keynote so maybe that's been taken out and will be reintroduced in iOS7?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, can someone help me with this technical question.

mmm, interesting, Apple filters added 4 asterixes in place of my aledged profanity. However, it now looks more profane (i.e. that it was the F word) than it actually was originally (it wasn't the F word, I'd never use that in a public forum - it was simply the word beginning with H and meaning the opposite to Heaven).

This is getting better and better...

Can someone recommend an alternative app from the store that can replace 'Reminders'. That app should sync between iOS devices via a cloud and it should be capable of inviting others to share a list (view/edit).

Obviously, Apple made a step back in the functionality of the new iCloud.com version of Reminders in terms of sharing lists. Implementing this feature into the new Mac OS doesn't help anyone who is using a Windows PC or who has no Mac/PC at all. At least, 'Reminders' sure looks nice now (or "beautiful", a term used excessively in the Apple media events), even if it can't do as much anymore...).

BTW, Apple released the new iCloud.com version without updating the Help section. A click on the "?" in the upper right corner pops ups the old help functions and tutorials. I wish it would also bring us back the previous iCloud.com version, so we can at least change the existing linked Reminders lists.

Seems my information is wrong. iOS 6 does not have the option. However, multiple sources do cite that sharing Reminders will be in 10.8.2. which I assume will be released this week to line up with the release of iOS 6. Still, feedback should be sent to Apple to return this feature to the iCloud web interface.
