I have followed these instructions about unchecking autodiscover, yet everytime my macbook wakes up, it still reverts back to the old server settings

I have followed apple's instructions of unchecking autodiscover, yet my mail settings keep reverting back to the old ones.

I cannot consistenlty access any folders in my mail since upgrading to mountain lion; I have an exchange server.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)
