According to iTunes, I have 4,569 songs in iTunes Match. I use Match to get songs on my iPhone but according to the Purchased tab in the mobile store, I only have 734 available.
What is going on and can it be fixed? I've signed out of iTunes Match on both my laptop and iPhone multiple times and it doesn't seem to fix it.
Is it possible that those "missing" songs were ripped from CDs or aquired from places other than the iTunes Music Store?
Yes but iTunes Match is supposed to work with all music no matter where it came from. I can sign in on iTunes on my wife's PC and access all 4,500+ songs but not on my iPhone.
Since the music wasn't purchased on the iTunes music store it would not appear in the Purchased mobile store. You iTunes Match music would appear in the Music app.
It's because you don't have iTunes Match enabled on your computer. iTunes -> Store -> Turn on iTunes Match
Why don't all my songs in iTunes Match show up in the "purchased" tab on iOS?
