Why is the OS British English language is incorrect? Within system menus items are miss spelt for example Customise and Authorise, they are all spelt with an 'ize ending.

My system previences have all been set up correctly to British English for my OS language. But the System spellings are still in American English. for example words ending in 'ise are spelt 'ize within system menus. Please Apple can you correct this.

OS X Lion-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.7.4), OS Language is incorrect

At least we have Films rather than movies in iTunes 🙂 iTunes has also changed the ize to ise on most if not all words.

It annoys me too but best to add your voice to the rest of us and send feedback to Apple direct.

There are over 100 languages which you can put at the top of the Language tab, but Apple only supplies localizations for 30 of them, and British English is not yet among them (except for iTunes). Use feedback as suggested by Ashka.
