Confirmed by Apple Business Sales UK that there is NOT an adapter in the box and this is an error on the Apple Store Website. Apparently it's been escalated to 'Senior Management' but the item is still showing as posted by the OP several hours after reporting.

I'm just on the online chat with a "Specialist" now, and they say otherwise - they say it is included! I'll post screenshots as soon as I'm done.

I purchased my iPhone 5 while this was on display. I THOUGHT I was getting a 30-pin to Lightning connector. This morning, when my iPhone 5 arrived, there wasnt one included. I called Apple - and their response was to return the phone for a full refund.

They would rather take the cost hit of shipping the phone to me, and collecting it, than give me a £25 accessory, which legally, they made a contract to sell me.

I have been a Mac user for 22 years. I have converted seversl people to Apple.

I currently own an iMac, a Mac Pro and an iPad. I have had every version of the iPhone.

Today I stop being an Apple consumer. And as my devices die, I'll stop being an Apple user.

That's not nearly enough. You should refuse to get within 100 meters of an Apple store, change the channel of any TV show advertising Apple, burn any magazines with Apple ads (or rip them out if in an office waiting room), spit at the mention of Tim Cook's name, from now on say "an orange a day keeps the doctor away", and never eat apple pie again.

LONG LIVE ENTITLEMENT!

This isn't about entitlement. This isn't even about me thinking that they SHOULD give an adaptor with every iPhone 5. This is about a legally binding (in UK law) offer of sale that specifically listed the adaptor as included.

If they had not listed it, I would not expect it (or feel entitled to it in your parlance). But they did list it, so I actually am "entitled" to it under UK retail law. They have two legal options in UK law, to either supply the item or to give a full refund. Giving the refund will cost them more than giving the item... yet it is still the option they have chosen to take.

Clearly they do not WANT my custom. I'm entitled to do what I like in response.
