Panasonic HDC-SD900 - iMovie - AVCHD format

Hi everyone

I have a Panasonic HDC-SD900 - when I'm in iMovie I don't see any of the clips I've filmed in AVCHD format - which is most of them. How do I see them in order to download them?

I'm using a MacBook Pro - latest OS X platform
