What is the best way to convert a video with 29.97 frames/sec. (interlaced) to 23.98 frames/sec. (progressive) without resulting in interlacing artifacts (jagged edges on movement)?

Best way? Or best way with tools you have access too? Best way is via a hardware converter called a Terranex or Alchemist.

Using Compressor or Final Cut Pro 7. 🙂

FCP won't do it. Compressor can do a decent job, but you have to play with the settings to get it right.
