Is there an alternative to waiting 5-7 days to have my Iphone 4s unlocked?
I recently switched to another carrier from ATT. When I asked ATT to unlock my phone they said that they had to request a code from Apple which could take 5-7 days. Can I contactApple directly if I have a request code from ATT?

No. You have no alternative but to wait.
They do not send you a code,they send youa confirmation that the unlock is ready. You then restore the phone using iTunes to complete it.
ATT says I have to wait 5-7 days before I receive a unlock code for my Iphone 4s
