    Congrats Rick I can only hope my status will change soon as this is so frustrating.  They really did not plan this out well at all as i do not see this as a first come first serve method.  @Tej sorry I have no idea what preorder processing means I hope its good news but i have no idea.

    I ordered my white 64gb iPhone 5 @ the AT&T store on Saturday, Oct 6...which was this past Saturday...they informed me that it will take a month in a half for it to come in...i said it was fine...i went to check the status and the AT&T site said my order was processing. On Sunday it changed to pending shipment...and today (Monday Oct. 8, 2012)..I received an email saying that my shipment was on the way! I received my tracking number today also!!! So freaking fast!!! But from what I heard from the AT&T rep at the store was that the 16 and 32gb was in higher demand so it takes longer to ship...I get mine in two days!! Yayyyy!!! :)

    Just a status update to the ones who it might be pertinant, I ordered on 9/19 around 10:45 am cst in store and mine went off backorder about 2 hours ago. I ordered a 16 gb black.

    i understand the pain, tomorrow will be exactly the 14th business day since i ordered. so you might be waiting for a little while. might be a better idea to cancel the preorder and find one in stores. the only reason i didnt is because i waited this long and figured it was about time that mine got moving in the shippiing process.

    The thugs at AT&T told me today that 2-3 weeks means 14-21 business days. What a bunch of jerks dorking around with symantics. I dont mind waiting. Just tell me honestly when to expect my phone. Every representative I talk to gives me a different date.

    If Verizon allowed web browsing during a call, I'd have switched to Verizon by now.

    I too ordered 9/19 around the same time and mine just finally went off back-order as well. I really ordered 9/14 but forgot to accept the terms till the 19th thus pushing my actual order date. Anyways looking forward to seeing what happens from here on... I feel your pain everyone it's been a night mare. However it is funny how when we were all kids we had to wait for toys that revolved around the conveinience of our parents schedule.... Now we find ourselves as adults able to buy things when we want them yet back to waiting for our toys at the conveinience of ATT ...

    I ordered a White 16g on 9/17 around 7pm and finally received the tracking number last night. Will get my phone  this Wednesday. Finally!!!

    What do you mean "accept the terms." Shouldn't you have done that at att when you ordered it? I don't remember accepting any terms myself -_-

    No worries,  because I ordered over the phone, I had to accept Terms through email. I'm sure when you order in-store you take care of that on the spot when you sign your name.

    If you order over the phone, like I did, if you get a GOOD REP, they will stay on the phone with you until you accept the terms, because this is a huge step.

     

    I received mine as planned yesterday according to schedule by UPS 'end of the day,' which was around 6:20pm.

     

    Ordered 9/25, rcvd tracking # 10/4, rcvd phone 10/8.

     

    Couldn't be happier, took less than 2 weeks, and i'm in love with this phone.

    I pre ordered the Black 16GB Black iPhone 5 on September 19th and on the Tracking Number it says "Pending Shipment" which has been like that for a week now...and today is October 9th, this is frustrating I have the 3GS so I am in need lol The sales rep said I should be getting it around Oct. 6 - 10th but I don't see that happening...

    Extra sorry I'm in the same boat ordered mine on the 18th has been on Pending Shipment for over a week now when I call they say sorry it's on back order and can not tell me anything else.  I have tried cancelling so I can just go purchase it at the store and have been told I can not cancel I have tried numerous times to see if I can get one rep to do it but I have not had any success.  I will never never order from AT& T again.  This is so frustrating.
