@bfrick10 our pre-orders are now reservations with no real reservation number. it's not a pre-order if its already released in our cases. so i guess we get it when we get it. i hate it.

Big disappointment and really I'm fine waiting another week but two weeks is BS knowing AT&T will get another batch for stock in a few days or inside a week. Greedy ********!

@thenk83  I work for a HUGE company here in the United States in which customer service is the #1 goal.  They have shut down HALF of their stores because their customer service was underpar.  I particularly consider myself a great customer service man who goes above and beyond to make a customer happy.  If I tell someone that I am going to do something by a certain time/date, you'd better belive it gets done.  No if, ands or buts about it.  And sure as crap I won't pull a line and say that they didn't read the fine print well enough. To thin that a company as large as AT&T can royally screw this up is beyond me.  The fact that they are such a large company is the only reason this is happening.  They know we'll all sit back and take it and deal with it.  If this was a smaller company they'd be out of business very quickly.

I really don't understand all the complaining.  If you didn't order it early enough to receive the initial supply, what's the difference.  At least you're in the Que for the next batch.  The website seem to handle the volume much better this time around.

Remember, they have to rely on Apple to transfer their orders correctly as well.  In the end it's just a phone and a couple weeks wait.  Proably sooner.  2 million sales in 24rs, bound to be some people that missed the cut off.   Maybe they will fix the issues with iOS 6 by then.

No way in **** did I expect to get it on launch day by ordering in the morning.  That's why I stayed up till 2 AM CST.

It's the fact that they told us if we ordered by a certain time, we would get our phones by certain date now we are finding out that a lot of people who ordered after us are getting their phones before us they said it was first-come first-served that's the main issue this there's no cohesiveness to the whole thing.

@bfrick10 yeah i agree. att's whole order process is just horrible it seems. ive learned my lesson.

  • bfrick10 Level 1 Level 1

@kurt7416 that's exactly my point.  I DID pre-order it in time.  I pre-ordered 2 of them in time.  And I'm not receiving either tomorrow.  But, some people didn't pre-order until Saturday 9/15 and ARE receiving them on time.  I talked to a friend of mine on Friday night who wanted the new phone.  I told her she needed to pre-order if she wanted one.  So she pre-ordered on 9/15 at 3 PM expecting to receive it in a couple of weeks.  She sent me a screenshot of her order status showing that it's shipped.  The same exact phone that I ordered 2 of!  And she's getting hers tomorrow?  She ordered 30+ hours after I did.

By what time, 9AM EST?  Looks like somebody was giving out bad information.  Maybe ATT will credit you for something, doubtful though.

  • kurt7416 Level 1 Level 1

Well that doesn't make any sense.  It's your friend and I would tend to believe her.  I guess be happy for her.  It seems that the stores were screwing up more than the website, is that correct?

I still won't believe anything until people start actually receiving phones.

I'm at the end of my cycle with my other company I'm dealing with and now when I get my new phone I'll have to pay for the balance of the other cycle cause they don't prorate phone companies don't prorate and i will b paying two bills at once. It's not a lot of money but the point was they told me that I would have the phones by a certain date I wouldn't of pre-ordered I would just waited and when this all died down went back in the store on October whatever when my cycle ends just bought the new phones then.

  • bfrick10 Level 1 Level 1

Every AT&T rep I have talked with states that if you had ordered the phone by 9:00AM Pacific time you were in the first batch.  I ordered mine at 6:15AM Pacific time and second at 6:46AM Pacific time.  I have not received a single email or text message besides the first one congratulating me on ordering.  My screen and my pre-order receipt shows 9/21 delivery.  I have yet to receive a single piece of information stating that my order will be in October.  So had it not been for me continuously checking my order status and reading these forums, I would have never known that AT&T made a huge mess of everything.  I'd be sitting in my office all day tomorrow waiting for the truck to pull up.

Every iPhone since the 3S has been a mess during preorders.  This is nothing new.  I guess I'm just used to it by now.  Moving forward if you want to gurantee a phone on launch day.  Stay up late, have both ATT and Apple's site up in case one keeps crashing.  It took me hours to get my 4 as Apple's site kept crashing and ATT had no info up yet.

Long time iPhone user here. I stood in line to get the 1st get, stood in line to upgrade to the 3g, pre-ordered the 4, and while underwhelmed by the 5 specs, decided to use my upgrade to get the 5.

I ordered via Apple at 12:47AM on the 14th.  White, 16GB.  One email thanking me for the order and that was it.  Opened the order today to see that it won't even ship until October 5th. No reason why, no explanation, and no email saying so.  Thats no good.  I preordered ifor the sole purpose of geting it on the 21st and have no interest in waiting in line.

I canceled my order.  ATT said to wait 2 days and then I can use my upgrade.  When Saturday rolls around, I will be going to the Apple AT&T store to pick up the Samsung Galaxy S III.

They sell the Samsung Galaxy at the Apple store?  That's news to me.

  • thenk83 Level 1 Level 1

im sorry but im not trying to be rude or mean but there are plenty of posts that disprove your stay up late claim. not everyone that ordered a phone super early is getting their order. @toastydoc is proof.
