Suggestions for non-Thunderbolt Macs?
Re: [TS4045: LED Cinema Display (24-inch, Late 2008): Intermittent flicker while connected to a Thunderbolt port] article...
I have a MacPro/MacBook Pro (no Thunderbolt) connected to a 24 inch LED Cinema display (Late 2008), but still experience the occasional black-outs. It's as if the power drops out to the display for just a moment. Some days I don't see any blackouts, others it's maybe 3-10 times a day.
Over the last couple of years using this display, the number of times it's blacked out must be well over a thousand times. I have experienced the display "garbage", where the entire display appears to become corrupt (loses sync?). I can fix this by rebooting the display (unplugging the power).
The problem has existed since day one of using the display - but I've lived with it so far, but would like to see if there is an easy fix for this. I've tried the display on several Macs, all show the issue. Do I need to have this display plugged into a power conditioner? Is there a seperate firmware update for non-thunderbolt Macs?
Any ideas?? Are there any known updates regarding this issue?
Thanks.
