Sep 14, 2012 6:22 PM in response to robbin121by pvonk,If you are trying to set up the icloud mail account in the mail app, just delete the one you currently use and set it up again. The newly set up account will then download all your emails from icloud.
If this does not apply to an icloud email account, then you'll have to give us more information.

Oct 15, 2012 11:05 PM in response to pvonkby joshadamson,I am having this same problem. I cannot receive messages to my .icloud or .mac addresses (but strangely, .me will receive them). Apple support says to change the "Incoming Mail Server" settings to imap.mail.me.com (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4002) but I can't edit this field; it is greyed out.
I tried deleting my icloud account in Mail and settings it up again. Didn't work. Tried setting it up from System Preferences>iCloud. Didn't work.
Please help! Thank you.

Mar 5, 2013 7:04 PM in response to robbin121by trixie_nonyobiz,I am up against the same problem with a reticent Incoming Mail Server field as I attempt to set up IMAP accounts for my original mac.com alias addresses. I've tried deleting the incomplete account setups, then recreating an identical account using "imap.mail.me.com" without success. Nor have I found any improvement by changing the Account Type from an iCloud IMAP to a plain IMAP account…and back again.
The field labeled Alias appears to offer a choice of Custom or Edit Aliases but attempts to make a different selection are futile…the setting remains on Custom.
Curiously, however, my primary mac.com address appears to be operating correctly, though it requires an altogether different IMAP address — po3-imap.mail.me.com. Presumably, a solution exists; however, it remains elusive and far from intuitive to this observer. Any insight from more experienced users than I will be gratefully received! Thank you.
n.b.: a conversation with an AppleCare specialist left him equally perplexed and questioning whether a mac.com alias email address can, indeed, be set up in iCloud to work alongside ones primary mac.com address.
