Why does app store deduct $2.17 for $1.99 for an app on my ipad

Hello I downloaded an app from app store for $1.99 but when I checked my credit they deducted $2.17 from my account! I know this is a lame question but I'm new here. Kindly please answer quick! I want to download 2 or 3 apps but confused over this issue. Thank You.

It is done automatically... Hence the difference you are seeing in the price...

Because you have to pay taxes on App store purchases.
