I cannot scan with my Epson DX8400 printer. The scan option is not shown on the interface page when I access to my printer.

Your Model does Not appear on Epson's "Compatible With Mountain Lion" list of units that have Epson ML compatible drivers.

However, people who need to SCAN & PRINT without a compatible driver from their manufacturer can use Apple's very basic "PRINT & SCAN" utility in System Preferences:

1. Click the Apple menu ( ), and then click System Preferences .
2. Click Print & Scan ( ).
3. Click Scan , and then click Open Scanner .

2. Change any settings as necessary, and then click Scan .

Yet your image shows a device with a supporting printer and scanner driver.

The Apple article you link to shows the DX8400 having a supported ICA scanner driver available from Apple. This means you should be able to open Image Capture and see the Epson, either under the Devices heading if it is connected via USB to the Mac or under the Shared heading if it is connected to your wireless network. And if you do see the Epson, selecting it should allow you to scan.
