    How are you charging it?  If it's via a USB port on your PC/Mac, try using another available port.  It wouldn't hurt to also double check the connections on each end to make sure they are nice and snug.

     

    If possible, use another cable as well, to rule out the possibility of a faulty/damaged USB cable.

     

    Lastly, reset the iPod and leave it to charge for a while longer to see if that does any good.
