Q: CAN SOMEONE HELP:: "this apple id has not yet been used with the itunes store"

1. You need to create an apple ID to begin using an ipad mini,

but

2.  when you want to install say Skype from the apple store you get the message 'this (previously created) apple id has not been used with itunes store"

I have worked with computers for decades and i could not see any way to proceed from that point so i could get Skype

What if you don't have a credit method like no credit card

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

this worked for me: set up iTunes and go into your account info (iTunes > Store > View account) enter your credit card info (mine was missing a security code) and you should be good to go.

Thanks.  I never got into the habit of checking dates.

Hahaha!!! And it is particularly deceiving since someone decided to resurrect the post, and the originals were from December!!! I feel your pain - I can't tell you how many times it has happened to me too!
