Is there a way to change (increase) the size of the menu bar (font and icon sizes) on my iMac other than changing the display preferences?
My optimal screen resolution display setting results in a very small and hard to read menu bar...
I have been able to adjust the sizes (icons and/or fonts) for the desktop and the dock, but can't figure out how to do the same in the menu bar at the top of the screen. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Sorry, but you simply can't do that. If you need to see it bigger, you could always zoom in (control + scroll up or down), but you can't change the size of it.
The only way to change the menu bar font size (which results in a system wide increase of pixel size since there are fewer to cover the same size screen) is to take down the resolution a notch. I've had to do this because my eyes would hurt after a while.

You use the menu bar all the time with every app
Couldn't take using such a small menu bar and the iMac's highest resolution.
So, I compromised by using the 1920x1080 display resolution setting.
Been working fine for me.
