Exporting Longer Videos

Hi,


I am exporting a 40 minute video and it is taking a long time - some 12 hours +


The file is being exported and compressed to a h.264.


Are there any other options of exporting the video (even low-quality-res is okay) just to upload? Maybe using Compressor and such?

You are exporting with QuickTime Conversion, right? That will take a long time with H.264.


Better way... Export to QuickTime with Current Settings, Self Contained. That will give you a master file with the same codec and quality as the footage on the Timeline.


Bring that file into Compressor and make the H.264 there.

Now the best part. You can set Compressor up to take advantage of the multiple cores in your Mac and speed up the process considerably. Read up on how to do that here:
