Office Outlook 2010 email accounts and contacts to Mail

I am going to be getting an iMac in the coming months.

Presently I have a Windows PC and I use Office Outlook 2010. I think I have managed to transfer all my individual contacts that I had stored in the address book in Office Outlook 2010 into seperate vcf files. I assume that Mail on Mac can then read and add them to its address book, is this correct?

Second problem is.

How do I export all of my email accounts from Office Outlook 2010 into a format that I can then import into Mail on the Mac.

I've had a Google, but I couldnt find anything that tells me how and if its possible.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Do you know if there is a manual way of copying contacts from Office Outlook 2010 to the Address Book on the Mac. I have got my individual contacts saved on my PC in the vcf file format.

And also do you know if there is a manual way of coming my email accounts from Office Outlook 2010 to Mail on the Mac.

I've looked at the links you provided and like the method described in the manual migrating/direct connect section whereby you just connect an Ethernet cable between the Mac and the PC and access the PC's hard drive and copy the necessary files over from the PC to the Mac.

For me, this method sounds easier than using the Migration Assistant method, but if I use this method I would need to know where the necessary files (the email account files that Office Outlook 2010 uses) would be that I would need to copy over to the Mac in order for it to give me my email accounts in Mail.

Mail & Address Book, though separate Apps, work in Unison in OSX.

If you can transfer that .vcf file to the Mac, Address Book can Import it.

Thanks for the help its much appreciated.

I've just been reading a bit more on this.

I see in Mountain Lion that there is an Application called Contacts (which seems pretty much the same as the Contacts app on the iPhone, iPad).

Now, I have most but not all of my contacts in the contacts app on my iPhone. I presume that iCloud would mean that I would have the same contacts in sync on my iPhone's contacts app has I would on the Contacts application on my iMac?

My question is:

How can I export the desired contacts from the address book in Office Outlook 2010, into a format that the Contacts Application could read?

I have just tried exporting some of the contacts from the address book in Office Outlook 2010 and saved them, but these are in the vcf format, and when I log into iCloud.com in my web browser, and choose Contacts, then click on the little cog at the bottom left of the page and choose IMPORT v card, I get an error saying could not read v card.

Just to update:

The remainder of the desiried contacts in Office Outlook's address book, I've attached as a V Card (vcf) to an email and basically emailed it to myself.

After doing that I opened the email and V Card attachments on my iPhone, I then copied the details, email, address etc onto a new entry in the Contacts app on my iPhone.

So now that I have all my desired contacts in my Contacts app on my iPhone and on iCloud too. I assume that the Contacts Application on Mountain Lion on the iMac uses/or can use iCloud to access these contacts too, and if that's the case, then will all of my contacts be in sync on my iPhone, iPad, iMac (Contacts Application)?
