Sep 17, 2012 6:10 AM in response to NancyP1946by planb77,How are you charging it? The flashing amber light could mean that your iPod is in Disk Mode and being accessed by your system. Have you tried removing the Shuffle from the charging source and check the LED status?
Otherwise, if it's via a USB port on your PC/Mac, try using another available port. It wouldn't hurt to also double check the connections on each end to make sure they are nice and snug.
If possible, use another cable as well, to rule out the possibility of a faulty/damaged USB cable.
Lastly, reset the iPod and leave it to charge for a while longer to see if that does any good.
