Ok so I love itunes. I've bought a ton of music. I now own Apple TV....why do I have to pay to be able to listen to my music that is on my imac?

No you don't need to have iTunes Match to listen to your music collection on Apple TV. It's really easy to setup AppleTV to stream your music from your computer. You just need to make sure you have home sharing setup on your iTunes account and put that same info into AppleTV. You're also given the option to stream from iTunes Match if you wanted to.
