Eye Toy PS2 USB Camera

Hi folks. Anyone know if I can use the Eye Toy Playstation 2 USB camera (actually made by Logitech) for iChatAV? Or would I be better off with my Canon MV630 DVCamera through firewire. Thought it would be more convenient to use the USB. If the USB does work, any opinions as to whether there are any performance issues with firewire versus USB?

Thanks... Greg..

Most likely you can use your canon camera with iChat AV... You might have to play some games with the videocam to get it to not do the demo and remove the tape - stuff like that to get it to act like the iSight camera.

As far as the USB I don't think iChat AV supports USB (1.1 or 2.0). . .

Greg,

After doing some online searching, I found that the Canon should work, but a driver for the Eye Toy is in progress. The website of drivers for various cameras to be used in on OS X can be found at http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/. Unfortunately, if you look for the Eye Toy under the Sony manufacturer (not Logitec) you can see that it is "in progress."
