It doesn't look like a device filter conflict (which might take out iOS devices/iPods, too), but certainly the device filters for the GEAR drivers are missing.
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)
iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes
After many attempts to edit the registry, uninstall and re-install the current and previous versions of itunes, update the driver and re-install Nero I gave up and decided to bypass itunes.
I loaded CopyTrans and manually reinstalled a previous 64 bit version of itunes using their driver install utility. I was able to finally connect to my iPhone using Copytrans Manager. Refer to instructions in the link below. Both the driver install and manger are free. The Manager is not as fully functional as itunes but at least you can connect to your iPhone and manage your music and other basic setings.
Regards,
Alex.
I am also getting notifications that drivers for my cd/dvd player are incorrect or missing, and I should try re-installing iTunes. That seems funny because I was just getting music off cd's last week.
Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. (Use your Ctrl-V keyboard shortcut to paste.)
Okay ... are you running any variety of virtual drive software on the PC? If so, what make and version do you have?
No virtual drive or anything of the sort on the machine.
Maybe it's time to just blow it all away and start over with a fresh install from the ground up?
I am having the same problem after downloading today. I can't sync my phone.
I ran all diagnostics and the only one that gave an error was the CD/DVD one. Here is the result:

Well, the good news is that the error / warning message when I start iTunes is gone.
The bad news is - so is my cd/dvd player. It no longer appears when I click on "Computer". And when I try to run a diagnostic from iTunes, there is no drive to select in order to test.
I would love to know what's going on as well.
After the update, I tried to sync my iPad, and iTunes informed me the backup was corrupt, and told me to delete it. So I deleted it and completely rebooted. Now iTunes (64-bit / Vista) won't recognize and iProducts.
I am also getting notifications that drivers for my cd/dvd player are incorrect or missing, and I should try re-installing iTunes. That seems funny because I was just getting music off cd's last week. And no matter how many times I try re-installing iTunes, it doesn't seem to fix the problem.
So - I've got problems with iTunes 10.7.0.21.
Any clue when iTunes 11 will be released? And will I have access to my devices again when it's finally released?????
Here is the output.
As I said, I've tried re-loading, deleting, re-installing, and no luck.
Thanks for the help!!
