Formatting my podcast description

Hey, everyone!

Got a question ...

Is there any way to format the appearence of my podcast description?

Right now, my description reads as one paragraph, like this:

A **** director attempts to make a G - rated film. 2006 Ed Wood Quickies Competition entry Winner: Best Promotional Poster Award Winner: Peoples Choice Award

and I'd like to format it into two blocks like this:

A **** director attempts to make a G - rated film.

2006 Ed Wood Quickies Competition entry
Winner: Best Promotional Poster Award
Winner: Peoples Choice Award

I know I'll have to edit the RSS feed, but how? Can I use HTML commands?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Chaz

Hi Chaz, welcome to the discussions!

The "Podcast Description" which appears in the iTMS will be formatted into one big paragraph. And no, you cannot use HTML code to try to force it.

The descriptions which appear in the circle "i", on the other hand, can be formated. Just add returns or blank lines to your text. It will show up correctly.

Hope this answers your question.

Terrell,

Thanks once again for your assisstance, but I a not 100% sure about the circle "i" you are referring to. I just went to the page for a random comedy video podcast (Tiki Bar TV) and I don't see what you are referring to.

Is that the podcast "symbol" that you are referring to?

Are you referring to the podcast art that gets submitted?

Chaz,

Unfortunately, the description with the circled "i" is not showing up now in any videocasts, only audio. This is a bug.

Normally, when you click on the circled "i" you see a longer description of the podcast, and this can be formated somewhat using returns.

To edit your feed, you can download the .xml file, change it, then upload it again to your server. It goes into the <itunes:summary> tag within the <item> tag. There are examples at

Hope this helps.
